Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Direct processing of shipments to enable Customs Brokers to arrange clearance, provide support services to the Customs brokers and delivery to the customer.
• Direct liaison with trucking companies to arrange cartage for both import and export shipments.
• Co-ordination and facilitation of the efficient release of international import cargoes to Oceanbridge customers, within the customer’s time frame expectations. At the same time ensuring documentation and payment procedures for Oceanbridge are followed.
• Authorising release of cargo to Tappers Freight Station through our Direct Electronic Release System in the case of LCL. Also confirming details of the release to the customer or his agent.
• Matching incoming payments and/or Original B/Ls with the appropriate invoices.
• Checking payment and documentation processes are correct before releasing cargo.
• Ensuring all communications with customers and service providers are helpful, courteous and of the highest standard.

Key technical skills, knowledge and Qualifications:

• Sound knowledge of Incoterms and supply chain systems
• 2 years relevant New Zealand freight industry and product knowledge and can apply this experience appropriately
• Computer literate. EDI (Cargowise) experience (preferred but not essential)
